Kimberly's new CD, Location Is Everything, available now online!
It's been a long time coming, and your patience has been rewarded! Location is Everything is Kimberly's second audio compilation of performance poetry and stories. This release, produced by Alicia Champion at Durga Studios, contains some of your most requested pieces from the Stripped and Teased show, along with other favorites and one or two new surprises.
A few of the tracks also reveal some of Kimberly's experiences with Hawaiian culture and American imperialism in the Pacific. For those of you who've been asking (we know, literally for years) the tracks "Public Woman" "Litter" and "Work of Art" are here too. These poems and stories about sexual harassment, women's lives and body image have been hugely popular at women's events and Take Back the Night rallies. Some of the tracks use music and others use sound effects, because after all, "Location is Everything".
